DIY Keepsake Box

DIY Keepsake Box

You know what I have a problem with? Cute boxes. What will I use them for? What will I keep in them? Where will I put them? I don’t know, but if they’re cute, then I want them! Read on for one of my personal favorites–a DIY Keepsake Box.

I get my boxes from Michaels; they’re basic and they’re cheap, so they’re perfect for this project! The one I used for this tutorial measures 8 ½” x 5 ¼”, but I’ve made them in all different shapes and sizes, so whatever you find most appealing will work!

DIY Apron Tutorial

apron-page-0.jpg

Whether you’re frequently in the kitchen, or are only there when you’re absolutely forced to be, a cute apron makes the time spent there 10x more enjoyable (we all think this, right? I’m not alone here?).

So, for you sewing-machine-savvy folks, this one’s for you!

But before we start, a note about the fabric! Most of my fabrics are thrift shop finds, so I actually used a bed sheet for the accenting green fabric on this apron. If you don’t have a piece of fabric this big, you might have to sew pieces together to get a piece long enough … Continue reading

DIY Photo Key Chain

If you’re into crafting like I am, then I think you’ll agree that we’re always on the lookout for small, DIY projects. Whether it’s for stocking stuffers, Valentine’s gifts, or party favors, if something is cute and can be mass produced- it’s usually a keeper in my book!

These little key chains fit the bill. Pop in a photo of a beloved pet, or an old family photo, or some eye-catching photography, and it’s a simple gift that won’t take up too much space (because that, along with time, is one thing that we don’t all have!).

Supplies:

  • pendant trays

DIY Stamped Spoons

The bad news: if you don’t have the supplies for these DIY Stamped Spoons, then I have to tell you, it’s not exactly cheap.

The good news: if you have the supplies already, it’s one of the cheapest!

You’re Covered

Whether you want to personalize the utensils with names, quotes, verses, or dates, they make perfect gifts for almost anything. Wedding? Birthday? Housewarming? Baby shower? You’re covered! You can keep them for display purposes, or you can use them like regular spoons and forks. If you choose to use ink in the letters, it will eventually fade out from repeated … Continue reading

DIY Table Runner

We don’t decorate too much for the holidays, but one thing we always like to do is switch out table runners. It’s not much, but it really adds a pop of color, and they’re simple enough that you can make one for every season! The finished product measures 39″ x 13″ so it’s a perfect size for most coffee tables or dining tables.

Supplies:
  • 24 5” squares (this fabric that I used was thrifted, but BudgieFluff on Etsy always has beautiful pre-cut squares that I’ve used for other runners!)
  • matching thread
  • fabric for the backing and trim
  • sewing machine
  • scissors

DIY Wooden Pumpkins

There are two types of people in the world: the first kind will want these pumpkins all over the house come the first of October (my mom). And the second will look at them and say, “How does a piece of wood look like a pumpkin?” (my dad). If you’re part of the latter group, these DIY Wooden Pumpkins probably aren’t for you (though I do highly recommend that you work on your imagination just a wee bit). But if you belong to the former group, then jump right in! They’re one of those projects that doesn’t cost much to … Continue reading
