While not considered a national holiday, this past Wednesday was still one of my top three favorite holidays. Christmas and Easter vie for first and second place because, you know, Jesus is awesome. And then there’s Valentine’s Day, but that one’s really only in contention because it has the most cheerful color palette of all (and love is pretty cool, too).
But colors alone aren’t enough to win that coveted third spot, especially when a day celebrating our gorgeous planet is in the running. … Continue reading

At this point, I doubt it will surprise anyone reading that I wasn’t queuing up for hand sanitizer and face masks. While I respect–and am truly sorry–that there are people gravely ill and dying from this coronavirus, I still can’t allow it (or anything else) to force me back into fear. I learned the hard way that panic gets you nowhere but into huge trouble incredibly fast. In fact, is there anything more efficient at obstructing clear thinking and smart action than panic? … Continue reading

Now that I started the ball rolling again on my Eco page, I feel like I should keep that small spark of momentum moving. (At least until another ball gets set into motion, which could be any day now…) But I really do want to share everything with you guys–most especially all of these green recipes and eco-tips that are just rattling around in my head, demanding to be let out. So here I am, back and ready to release another. … Continue reading
So the post I’ve been laboring over all week is just going to have to wait a little bit longer. After being unexpectedly swept up in a couple of projects over the last several days, I decided not to rush (and stress over) it, but simply tackled something else instead. This something else may be shorter, easier, and much less thought provoking, but it’s also a topic I’ve been itching to dig into for months now.
Remember my Eco page? Yeah, no worries if you don’t; it’s been shamefully neglected. But today I’ll take one small step to remedy that … Continue reading

Remember this post that I wrote back in June? It was all about me taking on some new hobbies and hoping that the next time God was gearing up to hand me another project She’d see me so busy down here that She’d pass me by. Yeah, well, surprise…it didn’t work. I knew it was probably an overly optimistic plan, but still, it was worth a try. After all, it may have bought me two months of a nearly-balanced life. … Continue reading

So Much Fun
In terms of productivity, I thought 2018 was a really great (and remarkably satisfying) year for me. I set goals and I met goals, just one after another. Sometimes it took me longer than I’d predicted, but if in the end I reached said goal, I never hesitated to crown it a raving success. But as I sit here, just one tiny step into 2019, I can review last year in one of two ways: the first is to see … Continue reading
I would imagine that there are tons of people out there who would argue that the world we currently live in is a safe one. (I used to be one of them.) The foods, the products, the clothing, the cleaners. Completely safe for the humans, for the animals and for the environment. In fact, why would anyone even suspect otherwise? Don’t we have government agencies created specifically to take care of these kinds of details so that we can focus on the more important tasks, like raising kids and following dreams? I’m thinking that even scooping the litter box ranks … Continue reading
